HPM served as the program manager for HAECO Americas’ fifth hangar at the Piedmont Triad International (PTI) Airport in Greensboro, North Carolina, where the company is one of the airport’s largest employers.
The investment to build the nearly 250,000 square-foot structure totals more than $60 million and added nearly 500 new jobs at full capacity. The expansion boosts HAECO America’s current position as one of the largest independent maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organizations in the United States.
More than 176,000 square feet of the new building is hangar space, the largest within HAECO Americas’ facilities and almost twice the size of each of the other four HAECO hangars at PTI airport. The new hangar is capable of holding eight narrow-body aircraft or two wide-body and two narrow-body aircraft simultaneously.
In addition to the five MRO hangars at PTI Airport, HAECO operates a facility in Lake City, Florida, and an engine maintenance center in Oscoda, Michigan. HAECO Americas also has facilities in Wallburg and High Point, North Carolina– housing design engineering and manufacturing operations for seats and other cabin interior products. The company’s customer base includes commercial operators, low-cost carriers, aircraft leasing companies, private charter operators and government agencies from around the world.
