K-12 Conferences: Connecting Throughout the Summer

As summer approaches, school systems and industry professionals across the Southeast are gearing up for a season filled with learning, collaboration, and connection. From Alabama to Florida, HPM will attend key K-12 conferences that provide invaluable opportunities to network, explore emerging trends, and talk discover ways to better serve our students and communities. 

SSA: Strengthening System Leadership in Alabama 

June 15–18, 2025
Orange Beach, AL 

The School Superintendents of Alabama (SSA) hosts its annual summer conference in scenic Orange Beach, bringing together system leadership teams and superintendents from across the state. SSA is the professional association representing Alabama’s school system executives, and its mission is threefold: 

  • Deliver quality professional learning opportunities 
  • Advocate for sound public policy 
  • Foster meaningful collaboration and networking 

With over 1,500 members from 138 public school systems, SSA plays a vital role in shaping educational leadership in Alabama. This summer’s training sessions aim to equip superintendents and their teams with tools to navigate complex challenges and continue driving student success. 

GA4LE: Unlocking Success Through Communication in Georgia 

June 22–25, 2025
Jekyll Island, GA
2025 Theme: “Communication is Key: Unlock Your Success” 

The Georgia Chapter of the Association for Learning Environments (GA4LE) hosts the state’s largest K-12 gathering focused on the built environment. Attendees include school system leaders—such as planners, facility directors, and operations managers—as well as architects, engineers, and product manufacturers. 

This year’s theme highlights the critical role communication plays in every professional relationship. Whether resolving conflict, building consensus, or aligning goals across teams, strong communication underpins every successful project. 

With more than 620 attendees, 167+ school systems, and 153 exhibitors, GA4LE’s summer conference is a hub for innovation and collaboration in K-12 infrastructure development. 

FEFPA: Planning for the Future of Florida’s Schools 

June 30–July 3, 2025
Boca Raton, FL 

The Florida Educational Facilities Planners’ Association (FEFPA) invites educational planners, architects, engineers and industry experts to its annual summer conference. This year’s keynote speaker is Don Yaeger, a 12-time New York Times bestselling author known for his work “What Makes the Great Ones Great.” 

FEFPA’s mission focuses on enhancing the quality of educational environments through: 

  • Professional growth 
  • Innovation in construction and planning 
  • Research into new materials and technologies 
  • Encouraging collaboration among educators and planners 

By bringing together a broad spectrum of stakeholders, FEFPA fosters an exchange of ideas that directly impacts the quality and creativity of school construction projects across the state.
